These are completely live "in-studio" one-take run-through recordings of my former band, Deadside Manor. They were all recorded direct-to-stereo mix, with no additional mixing post-recording. It's very raw and uneven, but you get to hear the songs in their most "organic" form, no drum samples, no effects, no overdubs, no synths, etc.
The drums are probably the loudest thing recorded, but they really capture just how great a drummer Jonesy is. Very talented guy. Danny's vox are also up there in the mix, but he has a real unique sound, somewhere between Eddy Vedder and Henry Rollins. Clint's bass is pretty thick and full (I wish I could have captured it better in the mix), and always dead-on timing. As a rhythm section, Clint and Jonesy worked great together. Real pros. Never had to worry about timing with them.
Deadside Manor are:
Dan Flynn - Vocals
Clint Mitchell - Bass
James Jones - Drums
Dave Lanciani - Guitar
All music composed by Deadside Manor. Lyrics by Dan Flynn. Some very short sections of cover tunes are included in the songs, and are not property of Deadside Manor.
